Cozy and warm November (1st part)

My experience as a volunteer at Totem in Pilsen during the month of November has been incredibly rich and varied. From cultural and sports activities to moments of learning and discovery, every day has been a new adventure. November has been a month full of experiences that have enriched my life and allowed me to learn and grow both personally and professionally. Whether through cultural activities, sports, or simply enjoying the little moments, this month in Pilsen has been a time of much learning and satisfaction. I look forward to what December will bring! Here are some of the activities that have marked this special month:

One of my first discoveries was the gym we have next to our house, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I took the opportunity to try it out once and see how it is, as well as enjoying the daily walks of at least 10,000 steps through the streets of Pilsen, which gave me the opportunity to get to know the city better.

Throughout the month, I also had the opportunity to attend events that enriched my experience. For example, I participated in a swing dance with the ladies of ADETO dancing group for the Charity Festival. It was a unique experience, full of positive energy and solidarity. Also, I tried Kostka scooters for the first time with the people from Totem, which turned out to be a lot of fun and a different way to explore the city.

My month in Pilsen was also marked by a number of cultural visits that allowed me to learn more about the history and tradition of the city. One of the highlights was my visit to the Pilsen Ethnographic Museum, where I learned about Czech customs and traditions I was also lucky enough to take a guided tour of the famous Pilsner Urquell brewery, where, in addition to learning about the brewing process, I had the opportunity to taste a beer at the end of the visit.

Pilsen also offered me the opportunity to enjoy spectacular views, such as the ones I had when climbing the cathedral, from where I could admire the beautiful panorama of the city. Moreover, one of the most magical moments of the month was seeing Pilsen covered by a light layer of snow for the first time!

As a volunteer at Totem, I also had the opportunity to get involved in community events. At the Pilsener Trail, I helped provide food and drink to the marathon runners, which allowed me to feel part of the community and assist in an important event for the city. In addition, on St. Martin’s Day, I helped the children at Totem with arts and crafts, an activity that proved to be both fun and educational.
